Physical Standards (PST) & Physical Test (PET) Rules

The second phase of selection evaluates physical eligibility through two distinct tests: the Physical Standard Test (PST) and the subsequent Physical Efficiency Test (PET).

1. Physical Standard Test (PST) Benchmarks

During the PST, officials measure height, chest expansion (for male candidates), and body weight (for female candidates) using calibrated digital measuring devices.

Note: A minimum chest expansion of 5 cm is mandatory for all male candidates, regardless of initial chest width.

2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) Endurance Running

Candidates who clear the document verification and PST measurement proceed to the endurance running round.

• Male Candidates: 4.8 Kilometers within 25 Minutes.
• Female Candidates: 2.4 Kilometers within 14 Minutes.

Running events are tracked using RFID timing chips attached to ankle straps or chest bibs. Failing to complete the specified distance within the allotted time leads to immediate disqualification.

If an emergency prevents you from appearing on your assigned DV/PST date, the board permits rescheduling under strict conditions:

1. Submit a Formal Representation: Submit a written request and supporting documents (such as a medical certificate or exam hall ticket) to the DV/PST Nodal Officer at your assigned district's Reserve Police Lines before or on your original date.
2. Reserve Day Allotment: Upon validating your request, the board may permit you to appear on the designated Reserve Day: August 31, 2026.
3. Unexcused absence without prior approval will result in immediate cancellation of your candidature.
